1. Overview
Version 2.16.0 delivers a complete dbt transformation workflow, configurable governance policy enforcement, and support for Azure Synapse as a Bring-Your-Own-Warehouse target, alongside continued platform modernization.
Highlights include:
dbt Transformation Pipeline: A complete end-to-end workflow — connect GitHub repos, select dbt Cloud jobs, view model-level metadata, and trigger transformations, all from within Brighthive.
Governance Policy Enforcement: Workspace policies can now be set to Active, Enforced, or Admin Only, and are automatically applied to agent behavior.
Azure Synapse Support: Brighthive now supports Azure Synapse as a Bring-Your-Own-Warehouse target.
Human-in-the-Loop Credentialing: Ingestion flows can now pause to securely collect credentials from the user.
Platform Modernization: Decommissioned legacy pipeline infrastructure and upgraded the web app framework.
2. Key Enhancements and Fixes
dbt & Transformation
Delivered a complete dbt workflow: connect GitHub repos, select dbt Cloud jobs from a dropdown (no more manual job IDs), and view model-level metadata including SQL, lineage, and pull request links.
Migrated the dbt agent to a more flexible reasoning pattern, reducing unnecessary interrupts and improving its ability to auto-read workspace configuration.
Added GitHub OAuth connection and disconnect flow for repository management.
Governance
Introduced policy enforcement states (Active, Enforced, Admin Only), automatically applied to agent behavior across the workspace.
Added on-demand governance tools letting agents pull schemas, glossary terms, and policy definitions as needed.
Warehouse & Ingestion
Added Azure Synapse support as a Bring-Your-Own-Warehouse target, including dedicated ingestion routing, quality-check support, and provider-specific setup in the UI.
Added Human-in-the-Loop credential collection during ingestion, pausing the agent to securely gather credentials from the user.
Agent Runtime
Began migrating BrightAgent's model routing to a new runtime foundation.
Extended the platform's GraphQL capabilities to support deeper agent orchestration.
Platform Stability
Decommissioned legacy data pipeline infrastructure.
Upgraded the web app to a newer version of its core framework.
Tightened Slack bot behavior to only respond to @mentions, direct messages, and thread replies.
Fixed a cross-account schema issue affecting Redshift connections.

About Brighthive
Brighthive is an agentic data platform that functions as a data team in a box — a coordinated set of specialized AI agents (BrightAgent) that work the full data lifecycle around the clock: connecting to your sources, cleaning and validating data, enforcing governance and data contracts, and keeping pipelines self-healing and live. Underneath every workspace, Brighthive builds and maintains a living knowledge graph and enterprise data catalog — capturing not just schemas and metadata but the tribal knowledge about your business, use cases, and policies that normally lives only in people's heads. That context is what lets the platform, and every downstream tool, reason accurately about your data instead of guessing. The result: every team inside the enterprise gets to skip the grunt work and go straight to trustworthy, self-service insight — querying, visualizing, and analyzing data faster, on a foundation that's clean and governed by default. Brighthive connects to your existing data stack or stands one up from scratch, augmenting or replacing point tools without disrupting how your team already works.
