We're excited to kick off 2026 with the release of Version 2.9.0 of the Brighthive platform. This update strengthens the security and reliability foundation of the platform, while introducing a major new capability for BrightAgent: agentic code execution.

Highlights include:

• BrightAgent Code Execution: Introduced Bedrock-powered code interpreter integration, enabling BrightAgent to execute code as part of multi-step analysis.

• Platform Security: Migrated BrightAgent to secure, token-based authentication and resolved critical vulnerabilities in third-party dependencies.

• Faster Data Retrieval: Data asset retrieval requests are now processed in parallel, reducing wait times when working with multiple assets.

• Expanded Data Loading: The web app now supports artifact-based S3 data loading with caching and server-side pagination, improving performance with larger datasets.

• Infrastructure Hardening: Continued CI/CD and dependency updates across engineering repositories to improve platform stability.

2. Key Enhancements and Fixes

BrightAgent

• Introduced Bedrock code interpreter integration, giving BrightAgent the ability to execute code as part of its reasoning and analysis workflow.

• Improved backend protocol handling for more reliable agent-to-service communication.

• Parallelized data asset retrieval, so requests involving multiple assets return faster.

Platform Security

• Added authentication and authorization to core FastAPI-based platform services.

• Replaced static BrightAgent API key usage with secure, access-token-based authentication.

• Resolved critical vulnerabilities in third-party dependencies (sha.js, form-data) identified during a routine security audit.

Data & Web App

• Added artifact-based S3 data loading with caching and server-side pagination, improving load times and scalability for large datasets.

Infrastructure

• Ongoing CI/CD package updates and stability hardening across engineering repositories.

• Shipped an updated release of the data organization infrastructure (v1.6.2) supporting improved environment provisioning.
